In 1947 Summers Service Station opened its doors for business. Owned by Oscar and Walter Summers, the business started with only one tow truck, a junk yard and a gas station. Summers Service Station was transformed into a towing and repair facility that offered emergency road service and AAA. Additional tow trucks and more space for repairs was soon needed. In 1978 the shop moved to its present location and the junk yard was sold. After the move, Oscar and Walter retired from Summers Service Station. Darrell Summers (son of Oscar) then took over.

In 1995 Summers Service Station changed its name to Summers Towing and Repair Inc. Since 1978 Summers Towing has grown to a prosperous, professional company with a fleet of light duty and heavy duty wreckers, rollbacks, road service trucks, plows and a 65-ton rotator.

The repair facility has grown into a five bay unit with vehicle lifts, alignment machine, tire mounting and balancing and specialty tools.

Today, Summers Towing and Repair Inc. is owned by Darrell Summers (President of the West Virginia Towing Association) and his son, Kevin Summers (3rd generation tower/owner). Together with their team of trained employees, Summers Towing continues to service the towing and repair industry.
